The Project
Dutch restaurant chain Bagels & Beans wanted to promote their new, colorful and dynamic menu in a unique way. Bringing the animal characters from their menu to life, letting them into the real world! This resulted in an adventurous trip for our protagonist, with me storyboarding and bringing the animals to life though animation.
Exploration
The concept was simple but exciting; our protagonist gets guided through the city to a Bagels & Beans establishment, by the animal characters out of their new menu. With this cast of interesting characters, I quickly drew a first version of the storyboard, keeping in mind that animation and video eventually had to be combined into one.
The detailed storyboard remained similar to the rougher version in terms of shot choices, but extra details and directions were added. This way, the production crew would know exactly how to film their shots, in order to achieve a smooth convergence of live action and animation.
