“Creating Creativity, with storytelling
as its core”
Diederick Geers is a storyboard artist for the animation and advertisement industry with over 7 years of experience, focusing on rapid and dynamic visualization. He has also directed for animation and is developing his own animated content.
Born and raised in the Netherlands and having had a passion for drawing since a young age, he’s mainly self-taught on storyboarding. Diederick has collaborated with a variety of agencies and studios, directors and direct clients, both nationally and internationally. His adaptability in style and approach, to meet the needs of the production, makes him very versatile.
A highlight of his career was co-directing, art directing, writing and storyboarding the short film ‘Cliffhanger’, which played in a variety of cinemas all across the Netherlands in 2020, with 10+ national and international nominations.
High with ambition and also focused on creative leadership in animation, Diederick’s goal is to eventually combine the art of storyboarding and creative leadership into an animation studio.
Diederick is currently living in Porto, Portugal, where he works remotely and gets inspired by the culture and city itself. This is being captured through urban sketching, life drawing and a big smile on his face. Spending time in nature also inspires his work a lot.
My values
Curious
Curiosity has always taken me that one step further, both in my career as in my personal life. Stepping out of my comfort zone and gaining new knowledge have been very beneficial for storyboarding itself and the process of storyboarding.
Collaborative
Storyboarding is all about communicating certain ideas in a clear and compelling way. That’s why I believe in open and trustworthy collaborations, for everyone to show their best selves and to get onto each other’s wavelengths.
Energetic
Every production I tackle with a huge portion of enthusiasm, not only to move the production forward, but also to inspire and motivate the people involved. Working with others and the work that I’m able to do, gives me a lot of energy.
